    RESPONDING TO YOUR FEEDBACK
The release of Windows Live Writer and the Windows Live Writer SDK was a very exciting moment for our team.  We are so pleased to see so many people not only blogging with Writer but also creating Writer Plugins.  The Writer team would like to thank all of the people who have been using Writer and/or creating plugins, especially those who took time to provide us feedback.  We have received some terrific input over the last month and have learned a lot from you.

As a result we have created a update to the Windows Live Writer 1.0 (Beta) that includes changes that address issues that were reported frequently or severely impacted your ability to use Writer.  You can see a detailed list of the changes that are included with the update below.

We are also happy to announce that there is now a Writer community on Windows Live Gallery where you can upload and download plug-ins such as the "Blog This" extensions for Firefox and IE that let you blog using Writer directly from the browser or the "Insert Event" plug-in that lets you paste events from Eventful using the Windows Live Clipboard and persists the proper event Microformat when you post events to your weblog.

Ok, this time it took the download; however, it says "The style template used for editing your weblog posts could not not be downloaded.  You will be able to post to this Weblog, but the editor will not use your blog style."

Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong or what's happening?

    Thanks!

Help!  I tried to install the Writer, but it tells me that my Windows Live ID and/or password is incorrect, even though I know it IS correct.  I've typed and retyped it.  Is there something I'm missing?

    Thanks for your help!

Hi!! Probably this is not the best way to report my situation... I've downloaded the Windows Live Writer Beta from the link in the top of this blog and when i finished to install it, i opened it and it gave me the error CLR: 80004005...

I've no idea what that appeared... I though it could be my OS language... Because my WinXP SP2 is in Portuguese, not in English...

Anyone knows how to fix it? (if that is possible)..

    Thx a lot...

Seems like whenever I update a blog and publish it using WLW, a new picture gets added to the blog image album.  Any fix for this coming soon?

I've used it to create some of my postings.  Seems to work pretty well.  It even supports drag-&-drop of pictures from a folder window into the editor directly.  If the pictures are too big, I get a prompt to compress the file for me.  (Does this during upload.)  That's nice.  Certainly beats writing in HTML in the default Spaces editor.  On the downside, the server error message still comes up on occasion.  I haven't been documenting them.  But it seems to appear when I switch between the default Spaces editor and WLW to edit the same posting.  I'm sure it'll get fixed (sooner than later).  But a wonderful job.  Thanks, WLW team.

Can you guys add the option to post to multiple/all journal accounts at once?   I usually post to two sites (Live and LiveJournal)  so I write up a post then publish to one, switch to the other, and post the same thing again.  It would be nice it WLW could do this with one click.

So far the only thing I have had trouble with is loading pictures from my computer or online sites to live writer. Everything else is cool. I have heard so issues with Drupal, but windows live and live writer have been a pleasant surprise. Good work, guys.

I instantly fell in love with Writer after setting it up for use with my WordPress (self-hosted) blog. Everything works! The picture tools helped me add a thumbnail of an image to a post, and it even linked the thumbnail to the original. Good job Live Writer team.

There are some minor issues with making it work with Drupal. Specifically, categories won't work unless you specify the blog protocal as MovableType and the blog address as http://www.cosky.com/blog/1 instead of http://www.cosky.com for example. However, when the /1 approach is used for the site url, it's unable to retrieve the CSS and any posts that are published produce an error in LiveWriter although they do appear on the host as an unpublished article.

It might be possible when creating an "other" type of blog to just use the additional URL for the category retrieval, which is where I would put in the /1 URL, and use the base URL for the CSS and the rest of publishing process.

    Thanks for the great product.
